ANIMALIA MUSIC RELEASES
TONE RANGER
Tone Ranger's music embodies the beauty of the desert - its sands, suns, stars, and oases. Combining classic Americana instrumentation with house and ambient elements, he presents an expansive sound, reaching ecstatic peaks and deep sonic valleys.
Based in Santa Fe, Tone Ranger is one of the most in-demand live electronic acts emerging from the Southwest. He can be found in strange art installations, on major stages, performing out in the desert or at experimental drive-in theaters.
MELAS LEUKOS
Ethereal, folkloric singer-songwriter Melas Leukos creates transcendent, narrative driven songs which move between Celtic Folk and experimental electronic music. With her virtuosic vocals carrying the heart of her work, listening to Leukos is akin to travelling far beyond the realms of ordinary life.
Animalia Music are honored to have spent the past year producing her debut album, which is set to release in the winter of 2024.
ELENA SHELTON
In February 2023, Animalia Music released Elena Shelton’s debut album, a shimmering intimate journey through cycles of love and change. From the California coastline to the New Mexican mountains, this album has been written over a decade, as Elena has processed evolving relationships to those she loves.
Elena Shelton’s music draws influence from Irish folk, psychedelic indie and experimental powerhouses like Kate Bush and Bjork. Working in collaboration with Nate Salman (Waterstrider) her album was recorded in the most intimate, immediate way, playing guitar and piano live together, often recording in the middle of the night. Because of this, the album captures something rare: moments of charged synchronicity, the resonance of the time in which it was recorded, the feeling of static in the air, light creeping through the windows in the morning, the sound of birds and the ocean outside.
LINDY VISION
For Albuquerque, New Mexico new wave/synth-pop band Lindy Vision, family casts a shadow over everything. Lindy Vision is a black native (Jicarilla Apache Nation) sister band formed in Albuquerque, NM. The band's current lineup features Dorothy and Natasha Cuylear, following the departure of longtime member and sister Carla Cuylear in 2021. The band has spent the last decade honing their unique sonic palette, a mix of dark ‘80s new wave, bouncy synth-pop and ethereal indie-rock.
This October 2024, Animalia is excited to release our first collaboration with these fierce sisters. ‘Let Go’ was recorded and produced at Animalia Studios.
